Alt Woes

I haven’t leveled up nearly as many alts as I normally do this expansion, and of the ones I have at 100, I play even fewer. Whether it’s lack of time or just not enjoying the game as much on more than one character… I honestly can’t quite tell.

Anyway, I’m thinking about leveling another alt at least. If for no other reason than another garrison hopefully giving me gold missions. Need to refill the coffers before Legion, and there’s no time like the present!

When choosing which alts to play this expansion, I have one big qualifier: I must be able to do the Tanaan dailies without wanting to bash my head against the desk.

That means that the character has to be able to not die instantly. Kill something within a reasonable time.

I leveled my Warlock, and while she can generally do these two things (though she definitely takes a beating, and her spells seem to hit as hard as wet noodles), I just find her awfully boring to play this expansion. Which is a shame, because I will always love her. But play her? No, I just can’t do it.

As for my next alt, I’m leaning towards Priest, Mage or Druid. I’m worried about the first two possibly being very squishy, and the third I’m worried about being boring. Maybe I should do Shaman… But maybe they are squishy too?

I don’t know! I am always incredibly indecisive…

char-listI’m basically okay to level anything other than the Monk (since I have a level 100 Horde one on another server). As long as I won’t hate playing it… But how do you know? How do you know?!!

Why you should never read MMO-Champion late at night

I was up late the other night and decided to have a quick look at MMO-Champion before heading off to bed. My attention to detail and thought processes are quite impaired at this point, but I thought I might share this particular thought process that I had. Maybe you’ll get a chuckle out of my stupidity.

I came across this little bit of news on the site:

Warlock (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)

  • Class Armor
    • Warlock Tier-14 4-piece set bonus now reduces duration of the debuff from using a Demonic Gateway by 15 seconds. the cooldown of Unending Resolve by 20 seconds.

My thought process went something along the lines of this.

Stage 1: Outrage

OMG! That’s the worst set bonus I’ve ever seen? What am I supposed to do with that? There’s hardly any fights in raids where I use Demonic Gateway as it is! How is this going to help me? I want dps boosts dammit! Gief dps cooldowns naow!!! *rants like this for a couple of minutes*

Stage 2: Oh Wait…

Hang on… Tier 14? But.. We’re on Tier 15 now! The next tier will be Tier 16! Why are they messing about with our old tiers anyway?!! The old set bonus was fine! Though, I don’t really recognise the one in the crossed out text… Oh…

Stage 3: Realisation and /facepalm

It’s the PvP set. Duh. That’s why it seemed completely useless for raiding. Oh well… Never mind my ranting, sorry!

I beat Arthas!

I’m so awesome, not even the Lich King can kill me!

Last night, we went to ICC25 to do some achievements that people were missing. When we reached Arthas, and the moment when he kills the entire raid… We had one person left standing. The Warlock. The Awesome. Me.

Don’t worry, Tirion. I’ve got this.

You can't kill me, Arthas!

You can’t kill me, Arthas!

When someone survives, the resurrection completely fails, and they remain dead for the rest of the fight. Not an issue of course since Arthas was dead since ages. I just had to wait for the RP to end. Did I bother resurrecting everyone once the fight was over? Eventually.

Paladin goes Popeye

As I got ready to logon to my Paladin today I noticed a funny little visual bug that I hadn’t seen before. Take a good look at this picture. Do you see what I’m talking about?

Let’s take a closer look. Check those arms out! She looks like Popeye, with massive forearms! Maybe it’s just a sign that I’m old and silly – but for some reason I found this hilarious.

Popeye Arm!

Operation: Clone the Gnome

For those who perhaps don’t hang around Twitter all the time (I am notoriously bad at it myself), or just missed it, there’s a new “thing” going on. Recently Alas was reminiscing about her time with her gnome clones, and this got a lot of people curious. The US people have all decided to go for this, and I’m left to try and rally the EU version.

So, the clones?

We’re all making gnomes, looking similar, and eventually wearing the same gear. We will lock our experience at level 24 and PvP in that bracket.

The suggestion is that we all pick cloth wearers (since we’re all supposed to look the same), which means Warlock, Priest or Mage. Engineering is advised as being a good PvP profession.

Similar names and similar looks makes for one great army of gnomish doom.
You can read more about the whole thing here. Note though that a lot of it is discussions, and quite a few things US specific. The document is an ongoing thing that you can edit and add to if you wish to bring something to the conversation!

The Quick and Dirty

So, to get to the specifics for the Europeans.

Where: Stormrage (Alliance)
Guild: <Punt This> (GM Liilly)
What: Gnome Clones!
Classes: Priest, Warlock, Mage
Hair Style: Punky (barbershop)
Hair Colour: Any of the three white ones
Skin Tone: Alas went with third from the lightest, but I may have gone a shade darker
Face: Freckled with blue, slanted eyes
Names: Lilli/Lilly and variations thereof

Want to join?

Roll up a gnome clothie on Stormrage-EU and either whisper someone already in the guild, or let me know and I’ll try to catch you online for an invite, since there’s not many of us yet.

If you don’t really have any interest in PvP, you’re of course welcome to join and be social and cheer the rest of us on!

I’ve created the guild, and I’m working on getting some mats and other things sorted for the guild bank. Will try to provide every new gnome with a little bit of starter cash and some bags.

Spread the word, and let’s make our own gnome army in the EU!

Female Armor Sucks

I normally don’t write a post just to link to a video, but quite honestly – this was was too good not to link to!

There’s been a lot of discussions in the past about plate bikinis and what not, I think this video really shows a lot of the issues that people have with said bikinis. It’s not about it being a fantasy universe – but the simple logic of; hey if I’m tanking – don’t I want my body to be… you know… protected? Covered in plate?

Ok, so I’ve been nurturing an NCIS addiction these past few months. While every other show was on a summer break I watched NCIS from season one and all the way up to the last episode shown.

I’ve also been playing WoW of course, and as I decided to make myself my very own Goblin (because any Horde, even if just a part-time one like myself, really should have one) I realised that she looks just like Abby!

I swear. This goblin is like the Abby of the WoW-universe. Just a bit more green and all. But you have to admit – she looks just like Abby!

Have you found any characters in WoW that look like a favourite movie star/character?
