Mists Bucket List

With less than two months left before the next expansion I’m finding myself having several things I still want to do. Since I plan on playing some Guild Wars 2 when it’s released in reality I only really have one month where I can more or less fully devote my gaming to WoW.

So, in no particular order, these are the things I want to do:

1) Level my horde Death Knight (currently 80) since I eventually want to go for the achievement to have one horde and one alliance on max level. I also plan to skill herbalism and mining on her (currently not even learned).

2) Level my alliance Druid (currently 82) after I deleted my previous 85 Druid and re-made it as a Night Elf.

3) Gather some missing pets and mounts on my Warlock. This includes doing dailies in various places, not least of all being Argent Tournament.

4) Grab as many achievements as possible on my Warlock. She’s missing quite a few, and I’m trying to get as many as I can. Some I won’t be able to since they require a proper raid group, but there are definitely some missing that I just need to put some time and effort into, and they should be completed. There are a few reputations I still want to get, and I really want to get Loremaster as well.

5) PvP Achivements. I don’t enjoy PvP much on my Warlock, so I will probably try to do these on my Disc Priest since  it’s a lot more fun.

Do you have things that you want to complete before the expansion hits?

Monday Musings

It’s yet another Monday and nearly a month has passed since my last post. My apologies to anyone who may have been looking for updates, I am trying to get back to it now. Let’s start it nicely and calmly with some Monday musings though.

On Life

The main reason for my lack of writing (or even commenting on other blogs) has been that I’ve not been doing so well lately. My doctor has put me back on extended sick leave, and I will have to wait and see what happens. While it means a lot more spare time, I don’t really get anything done since I’m too tired to do much. There are plenty of things I’ve been wanting to write about on the blog, but I’ve been having difficulties gathering my thoughts for long enough to write something coherent. I’m trying to kick-start myself though.

On WoW

I’ve been playing WoW more or less as regular, though probably a bit less. We don’t raid as much since people are away for summer vacations or enjoying other games, but I have faith that they will be back for the expansion. For me I’ve been taking it easy in WoW, doing some achievements and playing with the idea of finishing Loremaster. All of my progress in Azeroth was reset in Cataclysm so I’ll have to do all of those zones over again. I’m slowly working on it though. (And by slowly I mean barely at all.. I’ve only just finished Outland and Northrend, with Cataclysm zones being done since earlier.)

There are other achievements I want to do as well, and I’m working on them. Some of them are in raids though which means I have to gather other people who are interested, which makes it a bit harder to do. So for now I’m working on the ones I can do alone.

On Guild Wars 2

I won a beta key from Nvidia and was able to get in this final beta weekend to test Guild Wars 2. At first I felt fairly lost (a feeling I have in most new games to begin with), but eventually I started grasping the different way it worked and quite enjoyed it. Admittedly I didn’t play all that much because I don’t want to spoil the feeling. Mainly I tried all the different classes and races, dragging the ones I enjoyed most to the PvP zone which allows you to see their top level skills and abilities.

In the end I think I’ve settled on being an Elementalist. I enjoyed the second fire skill I got which basically was summoning a huge-ass dragon’s tooth and dropping it on your enemy’s head! How can you not love that? The damage spells combined with the fact that you can heal is possibly what sold the class to me. I’m still deciding between wanting to be a Sylvari or an Asura though. I didn’t like the other races much, and the Human and Norn felt especially stiff in their animations.

Other classes I enjoyed were the Warrior, Mesmer and Necromancer. If I was to choose a combination on looks alone (which of course would be stupid of me!), I’d have gone for a Sylvari Mesmer. They’re just absolutely gorgeous!

I look forward to playing Guild Wars 2 properly in August.

On Winning

Some time ago Amijade over at Warlockery held a contest to find the epitome of a Warlock for transmogrification. I submitted a set sported by our very own Démonique, and managed to snag myself a nice, new mount. Thanks a lot to Amijade for hosting the contest, and I hope that next year there will be a lot more contestands. I know I’m already picking up nice pieces of gear to make sure I’m well-prepared!
