I finally got this achievement a little while ago (but forgot to write about it). I wanted to get it already in Cataclysm, but switching mains made it so I was quite far behind on farming Argent Tournament and similar on the warlock. Anyway, I finally got it now!
In honor of the occasion I’m also including some of my other favourite mounts that I’ve collected along the way. Do you have any favourite mount(s)?

Congrats on the mount. I’m very jealous due to my secret envy of anything belf related!
My favourites are the white hawkstrider, my roflycopter and raven lord. Trouble is I normally use flight form as it’s so much easier
I like all of the mounts you listed, but I’m not an engineer and the other two refuse to drop for me.. grr.. Lady RNG hates me when it comes to mounts.. had she liked me a little more I bed the achievement would have been done sooner!

My favourites are my Dreadsteed (called Bob), my Hawkstrider and the Ahn Qiraj mounts, I likes the scuttling.
The dreadsteed do actually remain one of my favourites, but it seemed a little too obvious for me so I went for the others for the screenshots *lol* Mine’s not named Bob though, but kudos on an awesome name
The AQ mounts are neat, couldn’t get a screenshot of one though since I was too lazy to move to AQ

I know its a gold sink, but I like it too much to miss out!
I got this one what seems like a LONG time ago now, I use a random macro to help me choose what mount to use though
Usually will be Rivendare’s Deathcharger, White Hawkstrider or the white talbuk with purple horns (names escaped me this early and not at a computer to check!). Flying… Netherdrakes (Violet or purple), Nether Rays (red or silver), icc 10 drake, ulduar 10 drake, or cenarion hippogryph!
They tend to change depending on where I’m going or what I’m doing though, as a female tauren I’m quite large, so if I’m in UC or similar I’ll use my mechanohog just so I fit!
I have had BAD luck with RNG too, its been what 2 years since I started farming the green proto drake… and almost daily since getting the rep to be able to farm Anzu (had druid on my other account
Saving my gold up slowly now to get my Vial of the Sands Drake
The Vial of the Sands mount does look cool, especially since you can carry a friend! But I don’t know if I could bring myself to buy it *lol* It’s just so much gold!
I love all of the proto drakes, the green one is probably the only time I had luck with RNG *lol* Got it my second week with the egg

I have all the farmable mats now, and will just be buying the expensive bits when I can, and hope I get the recipe sometime soon!
I love multi-person mounts, but can’t stand my rocket just thanks to the innuendo there
Trust me, getting it on the second week is very much out of the ordinary for me. I farmed the polar bear for months!
Will be great once you get the Vial of the Sands, I suspect that if someone in the guild gets the pattern I will end up farming the mats too – the temptation would be too great! (I only have Alchemy on an alt, and I don’t see me doing Archeology on two characters, it’s bad enough doing it on my main!) I wish you the best of luck getting that recipe to drop!
Many grats indeed – it’s a gorgeous mount. I’m very jealous, as Tam has always wanted the red one because it’s so very belfly. But there’s no way I could ever farm up 100 mounts! I’m actually rather awed that anyone ever gets this achi at all

It’s not as difficult these days as it once was to be fair (which would pretty much have to be the case since I’m not much for grinding). If you’re exalted with your faction cities that’s a whole bunch of mounts there already. Then Kurenai, Netherwing and Skyguard – who are all fairly easy grinds these days. Quick too!
I think, for me personally, the thing that took the longest was all the mounts from the Argent Tournament since there’s a cap on how many emblems you can get per day. I got mounts there for a total of 500 emblems or so (so there’s still several mounts I could get, but I really really can’t be bothered to go back there!)
