Being back in the game, I’m also slowly getting back into transmogrifying my characters gear into something I enjoy. Since I’m playing the hunter more the most, she’s naturally the character I started with.
I’ve had this one transmog in mind for weeks (possibly months), but the shoulders I needed to complete it just never dropped for me. So I ended up making another transmog (the green one) to tide me over. Guess what? Two days after getting my green mog going, the shoulders dropped. I’ve not switched back to my blue mog with the new shoulders yet though. She will be green for a little while longer.
The next one (which I’ve been waiting forever on for the shoulders to drop!)
Since switching to my Paladin to tank for the guild, I just haven’t had the time to play my Warlock and as such not had the opportunity to update my Warlock guide for 5.4. However, don’t despair! I just discovered that the ever-awesome Cynwise has made a 5.4 Destruction Warlock Guide! So go check that out instead!
I’m still trying to get back into the habit of writing, and I’m slowly getting there. At times I have very little to write because I don’t play as much as I used to, and at other times I just don’t get around to writing the many things I actually have planned.
After my break from the blog I’m also still trying to get back into the habit of commenting on other people’s blogs. I still read them, but my commenting has become even more sporadic than it was before. Perhaps that should be my New Year’s resolution? More commenting!
Since I’m playing my Paladin a fair bit now, I decided that it was time to get her a proper Transmog gear. I put together a set in Mogit that I really want, but I’m still missing several pieces. The tabard I’m not even quite sure if I’ll ever get since this character never played in TBC, and I’m not sure if I can be bothered with getting Aldor reputation.
Paladin Wish List Gear
Since I’m missing a few pieces, I’ve had to make do – and this is my current set until I can get the bits I’m missing. (And I still have to figure out what I want to do with the tabard if I can’t be bothered getting my Aldor rep from a measly Friendly to Exalted.)
Matty over at Sugar & Blood had the greatest idea since the Oscars are coming up this month (on the same day as her birthday!). The idea is to pick a movie, and then choose three characters from said movie, and create them in WoW with the gear we have available to us.
Personally, I think this is a great idea, and I couldn’t help myself. I definitely had to join! A lot of other bloggers have as well, and it’s been so much fun seeing what everyone’s come up with.
Now, onto the fun!
Movie: Alice in Wonderland
While not the best adaption in the world, I did quite enjoy the Alice in Wonderland movie. It was a bit different and the style was interesting. Admittedly, I’m also quite fond of Johnny Depp. I started out in Wow Modelviewer, but sadly it decided to not work after a little while, so I had to switch over to Mogit.
In this post I’m looking at the transmogrification wish list that I have for my Paladin in Mogit. Since I switch between all three specs, I (obviously!) had to choose one outfit for each spec.
For her tank set I wanted to go for something shiny and golden, like the holy warrior that she is. I found the shoulders first, and then continued on from there.
For her dps set I wanted something a little darker, but still with a Paladin feeling. I’ve been trying to stay away from the Judgement set, since it’s so popular (though I can see why, since it’s gorgeous!). Eventually I may want to try to find a better chest piece, but this was the one I could find at the time that I felt fit the style.
For the healing set I’ve tried to go for lighter colours, and I had to start with the kilt since I knew I didn’t want a robe, and didn’t want trousers.
This is how I want my Paladin to look. What do you think is a good Paladin look?
I finally succumbed and got the add-on Mogit, that I had heard and read a lot about. Needless to say, I am now addicted. Currently I’m working on building a wish list set for each of my characters. And so, during the holidays, I will be sharing my sets with you, since I’ll be too busy celebrating to have much else to say.
For my Warlock I started with the robe, and worked from that. If I could have anything, this is the set I’d like to build right now.
Now that my Paladin is back as Alliance I’ve had to play around a bit with her gear sets. Some of the pieces that worked as Horde no longer worked when transferring back, and so I had to start over. Since I play all three specs I have a set for each role.
The Holy set is admittedly exactly the same as before. I really do enjoy the look of the Tier 12, and so I’m sticking with it for now at least. I also enjoy T2 and the re-coloured T2, but I don’t have a full set at this point.
For her more vicious retribution set I wanted to stick to red since I have Gurthalak (and nothing yet to transmogrify it into), and wanted the colours to match. Still looking for a better matching belt though. I couldn’t tell you why, but for some reason I like her retribution to be “barely dressed” and still being able to smash people’s faces..
When it comes to the protection set I had the chest lying around and wanted something that matched it. I may eventually get different legs, but sometimes I have to use what I have in my bank. The added benefit was that it all ended up matching fairly well to my shield. Now I just need a matching one handed axe.
When patch 4.3 hit, it also meant that transmogrification entered the game. Admittedly I’ve not been doing lots of research and farmed lots of gear for my characters – in part because I’m simply too lazy to do so. However, I still think it’s a fun feature, and I intend to keep updating my characters as I find new things.
This is the state of my characters so far.
My Warlock had all of her old tier pieces, so I simply went with my favourite one; the Tier 5 – Corruptor’s set. I wanted a nice scythe to go with it, but sadly I don’t have the one from the Midsummer boss, so I’m currently running around with from the low level Warlock quest – Staff of Justified Sins.
Since I’ve played my Priest sporadically ever since I rolled her in Vanilla she has a little bit of everything, but not a full set of anything. So I put together what I could, including the Priest shoulders I like most.
I’m having a love affair with my dps Death Knight at the moment, but because she’s not an overly old character she doesn’t have a whole lot of gear lying around. So, she’s actually simply wearing the DK set that you get as you complete their starting zone. Although I don’t like the style of boots they used then, so she has the look of the Woe Breeder’s Boots instead.
She only has one sword so far, I’m hoping for a second one soon. Then she will have two looking like this instead of just one. (Red Sword of Courage)
Again, this character isn’t very old and doesn’t have a lot of stuff lying around. I actually really enjoy the T12 for Paladins, so for her Holy set that’s what she has. For her retribution set I just picked some pieces for fun. I swear she is the Blood Elf with the worst fashion sense in Orgimmar. I’m still looking for some better matching pieces, for now she’s wearing the drops from the new Heroics for gloves and boots.
