If you’ve been raiding in the Siege of Orgrimmar, it’s probably not escaped your notice that there’s a big, raider devouring dinosaur running around in there. Thok the Bloodthirsty is ravenous for some… well, blood I guess… and we’re just nice enough to provide it to him!
The fight does amuse me, I just can’t help it. There’s two phases, one where you tank him and one where he runs around trying to eat your raid members. To stop him from doing that, you release prisoners… Under the pretense that they’re going to help you fight him. What you’re really doing… Is providing him with some fresh meat that aren’t your actual raid members! Every time you release a prisoner, Thok just turns back around and eats them.
I can just imagine this happening during a raid.
Prisoner: Please! Help me! Let me loose!
Raiders: Of course!
Unlocks the cage and lets them out.
Raiders: There you go! You’re free to…
Thok turns around and eats the freed prisoners.
Raiders: Oh… Um. Oops? Let’s release another prisoner!
Unlocks another cage and lets some more prisoners out. Thok turns around and chews them up too.
Raiders: What the heck! He just eats them… Let’s try again! Maybe this time he’ll…
Thok eats the next bunch of freed prisoners.
Raiders: Darnit! We’re just not having any luck tonight… Let’s free some more prisoners, I’m sure eventually we’ll get it right!
Remaining Prisoners: NO! Leave us be! We’ll just stay nice and cosy in our cells, PLEASE!
If the giant dinosaur is eating all your freed prisoners, maybe you should stop freeing them to provide him with said snacks? It just feels rather mean to release them just to let them get eaten by a huge monster!
Are there any other fights where things make you go “huh?” or chuckle a bit at the story around/behind it?
